New here ?? Dont be shy :) post away its what it's all about
« on: February 02, 2010, 10:58:02 PM »

Couple of Questions to get to know new members like myself and thought it would break the ice so to speak  ;D

What sort of gear do you have?

Whats your favourite piece of gear you own right now?

What piece or pieces of gear do you have on the radar?

What sort of gear is your perfect setup?

What sort of sound to you aspire to?

Cheers ,

What sort of gear do you have?
I have very traditional types of gear! Nearly everything I own was designed in the 50s. YAWN...

Whats your favourite piece of gear you own right now?
Ooooh tough one to answer! Since I put some APH1 Zebras in my LP, I've found it hard to find an excuse not to use it for everything... :)

What piece or pieces of gear do you have on the radar?
There's always a Fender Deluxe Reverb RI on the radar...

What sort of gear is your perfect setup?
I like a nice guitar plugged directly into a nice amp, but I also like phasers and analogue delays (oh and fuzzzzzzz!). In the right venue, a class A tube amp, cranked into power tube overdrive.

What sort of sound to you aspire to?
My favourite tones come from Pete Townsend, Martin Barre and David Gilmour I would say off the top of my head. The common denominator there is the HiWatt DRM103 with some type of fuzz. But for my own tone, I like something with a character (mainly from the amp) and something that sounds nice without forgetting it's place in the sum of a song. I just want to do the guitar part as well as it can be, nothing more, nothing less.

[Hi Everyone

I liked the idea that Nick posted this site on VB. The Tip of the week was helpful to me. I have a recording studio that gets plenty of use but more live stuff lately that recording. I've found that i'm getting a bit lazy and i'm in the "it's to much work and i don't have enough time to start a new project so why not just record live and capture it, edit it and  burn the live performance on a dvd with the rest of them. But what i truly want to do is put  together a nice Christmas unplugged dvd set with a nice cover for my family and friends. Does anyone have any ideas where to find something like this that i can print off and make my own covers along with a nice looking dvd? i know there's a lot of material out there these days, but i've yet to do anything like this for a nice dvd jacket. I have great printer also.

Thanks!...Freddie

Welcome to the site Freddie! I hope someone can help you out, but I can't.
